Foreshore Labs

AI for the work that's eating your week

Foreshore Labs helps Australian small and medium businesses work out where AI will save real time or make real money. We build it alongside your team, then report the result in hours and dollars every fortnight.

We start with one problem, fix it properly, and show you whether it paid off before we touch the next one.

Example fortnightly report An illustrative line rising from zero to about 63 hours saved over twelve weeks, with the first automation live at week four and the second at week eight. 20 40 60 Hours handed back to the team Invoice matching live Quote drafts live Start Wk 2 Wk 4 Wk 6 Wk 8 Wk 10 Wk 12
An example of what you see every fortnight. The figures here are illustrative; yours are measured against a baseline we take in week one.

Most businesses are stuck somewhere between curious and doing something about it

Someone on the team uses ChatGPT to tidy up emails. The owner has read a dozen LinkedIn posts about AI agents. A software vendor added an AI button last year that nobody clicks.

Meanwhile the quotes still take two days to go out, the shared inbox still gets sorted by hand, and month-end still swallows a week.

The tools are good enough now. What's usually missing is someone with the time to look at how the work actually gets done in your business and pick the few places where AI earns its keep. That's the job we do.

How an engagement runs

  1. Discovery

    Two weeks, fixed fee

We spend time with you and the people doing the work, map where the hours go, and look at the systems you already pay for. You get a short list of opportunities ranked by payback, and it's yours whether or not you go further.

  2. First build

    Four to six weeks

We take the opportunity with the best return and build it, using your existing tools wherever we can. Before anything goes live we record a baseline: how long the task takes now, what it costs, and how often it goes wrong.

  3. Fortnightly results

    Every second week

A one-page report with hours saved, dollars saved or earned, and anything that isn't working. If a number isn't moving we tell you, then fix it or drop it.

  4. The next problem

    When you're ready

Once the first build is paying its way, we move down the list. Some clients keep us on a monthly retainer for this. Others take what they've learned and run with it, which is fine by us.

The kind of work we usually start with

Every business is different, but the first wins tend to turn up in the same places: repetitive admin, slow turnaround on quotes and proposals, and information stuck in inboxes and PDFs.

Trades and construction
Turning site photos and voice notes into a draft quote the same afternoon.
Accounting and bookkeeping
Chasing clients for missing documents, then sorting and filing what comes back.
Allied health and clinics
Intake forms, referral letters and recall reminders that nobody has to retype.
Wholesale and distribution
Pulling orders out of emails and PDFs and getting them into your system without manual keying.
Professional services
First drafts of proposals and reports, built from your own past work rather than generic templates.
Retail and e-commerce
Sorting customer emails so urgent ones get answered first and routine ones get a good reply straight away.

A few things we won't do

  • Sell you softwareWe don't resell platforms or take referral fees, so what we recommend isn't shaped by what we'd earn from it.
  • Push AI where it doesn't belongSometimes a better spreadsheet or a changed process is the right answer. We'll say so.
  • Lock you inYou own whatever we build, and it's documented well enough for someone else to look after.
  • Keep billing for something that isn't workingIf the pilot numbers don't stack up, we'll tell you plainly, and you can stop there.

How pricing works

Discovery is a fixed fee, agreed before we start. Each build is quoted as a fixed scope with a clear finish line, so you know what you're paying for and when it's done.

Ongoing support is monthly, and only once there's something working that's worth supporting. We'll talk real numbers on the first call.

Why Foreshore

The foreshore is the strip of coast between high and low tide. It's where the water arrives first, and where you can watch the change happen hour by hour.

That's roughly where most Australian businesses are with AI right now. The tide is coming in either way. The useful question is what you do with the ground you're standing on.

We're based in Brisbane. We work face to face around South East Queensland and remotely with businesses anywhere in Australia.

Thirty minutes, no charge. Tell us what's slowing the business down and we'll give you an honest view on whether AI is likely to help.
